2004 Tempranillo

Pc2004tempranillo Our Tempranillo attracted Jon and Galo because of its great similarity to the finer Ribera del Dueros they have both tasted and Galo grew up with. It’s an exciting wine, with promises of fruit and berry flavors on the nose which definitely don’t disappoint when tasted, along with a lush, almost sensual mouth feel with very structured and balanced tannins. This combination suggests excellent aging potential equal to the finer of Rivera Del Duero’s Tempranillos. It is thoroughly delightful now, yet will continue to improve for four to six years.

Enjoy this wine with hearty roasts, game and tasty fare such as Cuban roast pork. Don’t be afraid to overpower this wine - you wont!

This wine was our first step in developing a Tempranillo presence in the northern Willamette Valley. One acre was planted in April of 2006 and should begin bearing fruit in 2008. The plants are growing beautifully; we are very excited….

Thanks for being a part of our discovery of new varietals in Oregon.  90 cases produced.

As of August 2007 this wine has sold out.
