So many of us are still haunted by the intense and complex flavors of the 2004 Tempranillo Reserve. It was one of those wines that brought out bizarre behaviors such as drinking a bottle alone with no food, hiding the open bottle from friends and family, and a scouring of all retailers in the area once we ran of our product at the winery. We have big shoes to fill in this next vintage.
The 2005 definitely shows the potential of a repeat performance. While it is still young from a bottle aging perspective, already the dark berry fruit is complimented by allspice, chocolate, and hint of mint.
