These estate grapes were harvested in early October and underwent four days of cold soak followed by RB2 yeast fermentation and pressing into French and Hungarian oak barrels.
The final product is an estate field blend and rewards the drinker with spices, butter, leather and tobacco on the nose then surprises you with delightful fruit and berries on the mouth, a very unique sequence of sensations. It finishes with the silky, sensuous, almost feminine mouth feel of a classic Pinot. This wine has very soft tannins despite the deep color.
Every time we pour this wine we are surprised at how it continues to develop, suggesting exciting cellaring potential.
