This is a huge, steak-ready Pinot Noir with the structure and aroma characteristic of Zinfandel. Here is Matt Talley's notes: "'06 Sophie's Edition--One of the most complex pinots I have ever tasted. Again, this is non-traditional to Oregon, in that it is dark, rich, and pleasantly aromatic. However, the words that come to mind with this wine are "brooding," "heavy," and "dense." This wine has a brandy-like aroma, a zin-like structure, and a syrah-like color. I'd buy two bottles. One for now, and one for 5-10 years from now. "
