Originally hailing from northern Italy (Alto-Adige region), traditional Teroldego can be light and aromatic, much like Pinot Noir. However, Teroldego grown in lowland valleys with steady heat (such as California’s Central Valley) produces rich, inky juice that stains teeth, tongues, and skin. This particular vintage is marked by aromas of leather, tobacco, and earth while the flavors lean towards pit fruit such as plums, black cherries, with a hint of brandy notes.
