Our 2008 Marechal Foch is a beautiful example of this varietal. Dark fruit such as currant dominates the nose, with subtle touches of oak aromas and flavors. This particular year sports a robust acidity and would be a great choice for pairing with a food where white wine might normally make more sense but a red is what your heart desires. Think chicken or fish.
Unfortunately for some (including a couple of us here at PCV this amazing wine is limited to Wine Club only and even more unfortunately it is also limited to the one bottle in your shipment. The reason for this is we only grow a little of this varietal (it is a delicate plant that requires a lot of love and attention), it ripens early and has a very small berry (high skin to weight ratio) and is a favorite of both the birds and the deer (they got 6 entire rows last fall).
