In keeping with Purple Cow traditions of bringing you uncommon varietals we happily found the Siegerrebe dry white wine in Puget Sound. Siegerrebe is a genetic cross between Madeleine Angevine and Gewürztraminer. It was developed in 1929 and there is some debate as to wether it was an intentional development or simply cross-pollination. This particular wine is crisp, tart, bright wine with flavors of melons and apricot.
