Our 2008 Sophie’s Edition is a blend of Dijon 777 and 667 clones from a vineyard up the hill from our property. It has an exposed hilltop with great air drainage. This is reflects the ripening power of the site. Because of these conditions the 08 Sophie's Edition has developed a sweet bubble gum and cotton candy nose. Hints of blueberry, coconut, and anise blend lend structure in the background. 2008 was a cold but dry vintage so we are blessed with rich flavors and moderate alcohol. In addition we mixed up our fermentation process in 2008 which allowed the colors and tannin levels to remain high.
