Marechal Foch is a hybrid (only half vitis vinifera) created almost 100 years ago. It ripens early, has a very high skin-to-weigh ratio, and is a favorite target for birds and deer.
We only grow a little so it starts out as a library wine and is treated very carefully. It requires more labor to grow due to its weak shoots. In the summer when we’re still in the fields at dark, we’re talking about pulling it out. When we try what we made, we talk about planting more.Dark fruit such as Marion Berry and Blueberry dominates the nose, with subtle touches of stone, tomato, and cedar. The palate is softer than the color suggests and fills your taste buds with memories of cotton candy.
